Course Description:The "high-season" for respiratory tracts infections is almost ending, but these infections occur year-round and are among the most common conditions seen in Urgent Care. Appropriate diagnosis and treatment is crucial, to achieve the best patient outcomes and to minimize unnecessary and inappropriate antibiotic prescribing. This intensive review of evidence-based care will arm all clinicians with the best approach to caring for the continual challenge of managing respiratory tract infections in a way that optimizes cure, antibiotic stewardship, and patient satisfaction.
Speaker: Chrysa Charno, PA-C, MBA
Chrysa Charno has been a practicing PA for 17 years in the fields of internal medicine, orthopedics, dermatology, plastic surgery, urgent care and emergency medicine. In the past she was the President of the Association of Plastic Surgery PAs and has published multiple articles in well-known journals on surgical topics and technique. She has been a national speaker on the topic of advanced suturing for the American Association of Surgical PAs and has presented an array of medical topics with us at the UCAOA for five years in a row. In addition to practicing medicine, she also holds an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology and serves as the first APC on the Board of the Urgent Care College of Medicine. Today she is the Founder and CEO of AcuteKids, Pediatric Urgent Care in Rochester, NY and thoroughly enjoys many sleepless nights between work and three little kids!
