Course Description:
Developing a Quality Plan and improving it over time is a critically important and challenging task for any healthcare organization, regardless of size, complexity or focus. Even though the overall objective of quality planning and reporting is a shared desire to improve patient care, each organization has different needs, experiences and culture and accordingly, their Quality Plans and reporting templates will be uniquely reflective of their circumstances. The objective of this course is to assist the urgent care operator in developing an effective Quality Plan by developing guidelines for Quality Plans that will create a framework for action and high performance, producing aids and tools that can be adapted and used in various settings, provide a practical guide to follow in the creation of a Quality program.
Speaker: Shane Lacaillade, MHA, MBA
Shane Lacaillade is the COO, Graves Gilbert Clinic and a Managing Director with Merchant Medicine, LLC. Shane brings 28 years of leadership, management and consulting experience in private, public and government healthcare. As a senior executive, Shane has extensive experience in human resource planning and operations, organizational change, team building, organizational effectiveness and facilitative leadership. He leads operational and organizational audits to align performance requirements with staffing plans and processes to enhance teamwork and productivity. Most recent experience includes COO for Graves Gilbert Clinic (Integrative multi-disciplinary care) in Kentucky, SVP of Operations for Doctors Care (Urgent Care) in South Carolina (UCI Medical Affiliates Inc.), and Director of Operations for Premise Health (Employer On-sites) in Tennessee. Prior to the private sector, Shane served in U.S. Air Force clinical operations with multiple overseas deployments and has held senior healthcare positions with the U.S. military culminating in his last position as the Executive Director for the Defense Medical Readiness Training Institute. Shane holds an MHA, an MBA and an MS in Performance Improvement.
